  Description

  Pier\jetty, erected c. 1847, having modern mass concrete addition to the east end. Constructed of large squared and coursed cyclopean rubble stone masonry with squared and coursed rubble stone parapet wall to south. Inset ashlar steps to north side. Cast-iron mooring posts at intervals along length. Concrete surface to deck. Juts in Lough Foyle and located to west of Moville town centre. Section of rubble stone quay wall\retaining wall to the north-east.

• Carrickarory House, house, 1840–1880 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay three-storey house, built c. 1860, with two-storey return to rear. Pitched artificial slate roof, roughcast rendered chimneystacks to gable ends with smooth rendered coping with terracotta pots, and with replacement rainwater goods. Rubble stone construction to front façade; roughcast rendered walls to all other elevations. Square-headed window openings with red brick block-and-start surrounds, six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to first and second floors and to north bay of ground floor of front façade; tripartite\Wyatt window comprising six-over-six timber sash window flanked by four-over-four timber sash margins; four-over-four timber sash windows to gables; timber casement windows to return. Square-headed door opening to centre of front façade with red brick block-and-start surrounds, timber panelled door and glazed overlight. Set within own grounds facing onto road, with modern shed to rear, chain-and-bollard fence to front and Carrickarory pier (see 40809001) across the road.

  Terrace of seven-bay two-storey houses, built c. 1874-75 and extended in 1885, as part of a coastguard station with various single and two-storey extensions and returns to rear, now in use as houses. Hipped slate roof with exposed timber rafters to eaves; brick chimneystacks with stringcourses and corniced coping; cast-iron and replacement rainwater goods. Flat and lean-to roofs to rear. Painted coursed rubble walls with painted tooled ashlar block-and-start quoins, on painted projecting plinth. Segmental arched window openings with tooled ashlar block-and-start surrounds with two-over-two pane horned timber sliding sash windows to central bay and replacement windows to remainder. Square-headed window openings to rear. Square-headed door openings with various replacement doors to rear. Terrace of single-storey outhouses to rear comprising monopitched slate roofs, coursed rubble stone walls with ashlar block-and-start quoins, square-headed window openings with timber-framed casement windows and square-headed door openings with battened timber doors. Set within own grounds with another block of the coastguard station (see 40809004) to the north-east. Grassed area to front of property. Located to west of Moville town centre overlooking Lough Foyle and with Carrickarory Pier (40809001) to the south-west.

  Freestanding eight-bay two-storey former coastguard station, built c. 1868-69, with projecting gabled half-hipped pair of bays to the south-west, and recessed bays to south-west and north-east; single-storey lean-to entrance porches to rear, oriel windows to the north-east and to the north-west sides, both over segmental-arched machicolations on corbels. Now in use as houses. Hipped and half-hipped slate roofs with exposed timber rafters to eaves; brick chimneystacks with stringcourses and corniced coping; cast-iron and replacement rainwater goods. Lean-to natural slate roofs to entrance porches. Painted coursed rubble walls with painted tooled ashlar block-and-start quoins, and projecting plinth. Segmental-arched window openings with painted tooled ashlar block-and-start surrounds with six-over-six horned timber sash windows. Square-headed window openings with six-over-six horned timber sash and some replacement windows to rear. Segmental-arched door openings to recessed bays with timber panelled door and overlight to north-east and half-glazed timber-framed door with overlight to south-west. Square-headed door openings to rear porches with assortment of doors. Row of detached single-storey outhouses to rear with pitched slate and corrugated metal roofs, rubble stone walls with ashlar block-and-start quoins, square-headed window openings with three-over-three horned timber sash window to central outbuilding, square-headed door openings with assortment of battened timber doors. Wrought-iron gate mounted on tooled ashlar gate-piers with tapered coping to front and to rear. Ashlar stone steps to front. Set within own grounds with later block of houses (see 40809003) to the south-west. Grassed area to front of property. Located to west of Moville town centre overlooking Lough Foyle and with Carrickarory Pier (see 40809001) to the south-west.

  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge originally serving Carrownaff Lodge (house demolished), built c. 1860, with advanced gabled bay with attic, and single-storey lean-to extension to rear. Pitched slate roofs with overhanging eaves on paired timber brackets and with ornate timber bargeboards and pendant and finials to gables; smooth rendered central chimneystack with stepped coping and painted terracotta pots; replacement rainwater-goods; lean-to fibre-cement tiled roof to extension. Smooth rendered walls with articulated block-and-start quoins. Square-headed window openings with stucco hoodmouldings, uPVC windows and painted rendered sills. Square-headed door opening with replacement door.

• Glebe Bridge, bridge, 1850–1855 · Regional interest
  Description

  Single-arch road bridge spanning Bredagh River, built c. 1853. Squared and coursed rubble walls with large ashlar stone coping to crenulated parapets, and ashlar stringcourse to outer walls at base of parapet. Round-headed arch having ashlar voussoirs with articulated key-stone detail with rock-faced block-and-start quoins to piers. Arch flanked by projecting squared coursed stone pilasters with dentilated ashlar stringcourse at deck-level, incorporating round-headed niches with ashlar voussoirs and rock-face relieving arches and quoins. Coursed rock-faced rubble walls to piers and abutments. Squared coursed rubble to soffits; rock-faced rubble to interior of piers. Double carriageway with tarmac to deck. Located west of Moville, at foot of Bredagh Glen, where Bredagh River meets Lough Foyle.

  Walled garden on rectangular plan, built c. 1860, with lean-to potting shed within. High random rubble walls with squared limestone block-and-start quoins, and rounded rendered coping with broken-glass inset. Square-headed door opening to the south-east with battened timber double doors. Lean-to to south-west corner with corrugated-metal roof and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered random rubble walls with square-headed window opening, smooth rendered surround and timber casement window, and square-headed door opening with battened timber door. Inside with mature palm trees, but overgrown.
