• Bridge, 1890–1900 · Regional interest
  Description

  Single-arch former railway bridge, built c. 1893, carrying road over the former Donegal Town to Killybegs narrow gauge railway line. Now out of use (since 1960) with railway line removed. Snecked and squared rock-faced stone construction to spandrels and to parapets with rock-faced coping over parapets. Squared rubble stone construction to arch barrel. Segmental-headed arch with rock-faced ashlar voussoirs having dressed margins. Tarmacadam deck with grass verges. Side elevations of bridge (east and west) now largely covered in vegetation. Located to the north of Inver and the north-west of Mountcharles. Former Inver railway station adjacent to the east (see 40909218) and former water tank adjacent to the west.

  Description

  Double-arched road bridge over a tributary of the Eany Water River, built c. 1800, having V-profile cut stone/squared rubble stone cutwater to central pier. Segmental-headed arches having dressed voussoirs to arch; squared rubble stone construction to arch barrels. Uncoursed/randomly coursed rubble stone masonry to spandrels and parapets with rock-faced coping over parapets. Rubble stone wing walls to end of parapets; wing walls step outwards to either end of bridge. Tarmacadam deck with grass verges. Located to the north of Inver and to the north-west of Mountcharles.

• Water tower, 1890–1900 · Regional interest
  Description

  Single-bay single-storey former railway water tower, erected c. 1893, having metal water tank over. Originally built as part of Inver Railway Station (see 40909218). Now out of use and overgrown with vegetation. Constructed of squared coursed rock-faced sandstone masonry with rock-faced quoins to the corners. Round-headed window opening to the east elevation having rock-faced sandstone surround, cut stone sill, and remains of multi-paned timber sliding sash window. Square-headed doorway to the west elevation having rock-faced sandstone surround and rock-faced sandstone lintel over; original timber battened door now removed. Metal water tank over having former chute/nozzle and metal pulley wheel to the east side. Set back from road to the west of the former Inver Railway Station (see 40909218), and adjacent to the west of railway bridge (see 40909217). Located to the north of Inver and to the west of Mountcharles.
