  Description

  In level grassland. Oval rath (E-W 36.4m, N-S 29.6m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. A scarp forms the inner enclosing element from NE to E. The outer bank is overlain by a field boundary from SE through S to SW. A gap (Wth 4m) at NNE could be original.   Description

  Towards S foot of a low hill with a small stream immediately to S. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1932) as a vaguely subrectangular enclosure (NW-SE c. 80m, E-W c. 75m). Since levelled and all that is now visible is a very faint roughly square platform (N-S 50m, E-W 50m, H 0.5m) standing slightly above the surrounding poorly drained ground. The monument is cut by a field wall at N and S. Possibly a ringfort though its morphology and location also suggest a moated site.
