  Description

  Located on a ridge above Glan Lough from which it commands a broad view of Kenmare Bay and the intervening low-lying land to SE, this tall, weathered stone stands 2m high and measures 1.12m x .42m at base; NE-SW. It is of regular elevation, and a long rectangular flake has spalled from its NW edge. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 132. • KE099-030 Souterrain
  Description

  An opening to this souterrain is located at the NE side of a NW-SE field boundary in an area of level pasture a short distance NNE of Glan Lough, Immediately inside the opening is a sheer drop of at least 2m into what appears to be an oval-shaped lintelled chamber with sides of earth. At its W end is a small creepway. It was not possible to investigate the souterrain further. It is not marked on the OS maps. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
