On a rise, in pasture. Circular area (27m N-S; 27m E-W), enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m), with external fosse (diam. 3m; D 0.3m), SW to N. The above description has been derived from D. Description
Straddling the SE edge of low rise bordered by wet, rush-grown pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by a stony earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 1.2m). The bank retains a low internal lip and a well-defined external scarp. The interior is engulfed in an impenetrable thicket of blackthorn and brambles, and could not be inspected. The perimeter is ringed with hawthorn and ash trees.
