Description
Situated in a shallow SW-NE valley with a SW-NE stream c. 20m to the NW. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by an earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.8m). There is no visible fosse or entrance. The site is now surrounded by modern housing on all sides except to the NW in a suburb of Tramore. Archaeological testing (08E1007) on an extensive site over 100m to the NE produced no related material (Hurley 2011) Hurley, M. (2011) Monloum, Tramore. No archaeological significance. in I. Bennett (Ed.) Excavations 2008: summary accounts of excavations in Ireland, 363, No. 1238. Wordwell. Dublin. Description
Gateway, c.1890, comprising pair of rock-faced limestone ashlar piers with cut-stone stringcourses and coping, hoop iron double gates, and sections of random rubble stone flanking boundary walls having lime mortar, and rendered coping. Road fronted at junction of two roads at entrance to grounds of Melrose House.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey house, c.1870, built on site and possibly incorporating fabric of earlier house, pre-1840, retaining original fenestration with single-bay single-storey projecting porch to centre. Extended, c.1995, comprising single-bay two-storey lower return to north-west. Pitched slate roof (hipped to porch; artificial slate roof to return) with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted rendered, ruled and lined walls with rendered quoined piers to ends, paired rendered strips to porch, and unpainted cement rendered walls to return. Square-headed window openings with cut-stone sills. 1/1 timber sash windows having margins with one replacement uPVC casement window, c.1995, to porch. Square-headed door opening with two cut-stone steps, and replacement timber panelled door, c.1995. Set back from road in own grounds with landscaped grounds to site having unpainted rendered boundary wall with rendered piers, and wrought iron gate.

Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, c.1950, with single-bay two-storey projecting entrance bay to centre. Refenestrated, c.2000. Hipped roofs with profiled clay tile, clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods, c.2000, on overhanging eaves retaining some original cast-iron downpipes. Painted rendered walls with red brick Running bond plinth. Square-headed window openings (paired to first floor entrance bay) with concrete sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Round-headed window openings to ground floor entrance bay with concrete sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Round-headed door opening with red brick surround, glazed timber panelled double doors, and overlight. Set back from road in own grounds with tarmacadam forecourt, and landscaped grounds to site.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey house, c.1840. Subsequently in use as boarding school, c.1840. Renovated and refenestrated, c.1990, with replacement single-bay single-storey gabled projecting glazed porch added to centre. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks having red brick Running bond sections, sproketed eaves, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Pitched (gable-fronted) glazed roof to porch in timber frame. Unpainted fine roughcast walls with rendered quoined piers to ends. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, c.1990. Square-headed openings to porch with glazed timber panelled double doors, fixed-pane lights on timber panels, and some panels incorporating leaded stained glass fittings. Round-headed door opening to house with timber panelled door, and overlight. Interior with timber panelled shutters/reveals to window openings. Set back from road in own grounds with gravel forecourt, and random rubble stone boundary wall to site

Detached four-bay single-storey outbuilding with half-attic, c.1875, retaining original aspect with square-headed carriageway to right ground floor. Now disused. Pitched slate roof with red clay ridge tiles, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted (lime washed) lime rendered walls over random rubble stone construction. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and timber fittings. Square-headed door openings with timber panelled doors. Square-headed carriageway to right ground floor with timber panelled doors. Set in own grounds perpendicular to road with side (south-east) elevation fronting on to road.
