  Description

  Situated on a slight rise in a broad basin. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 48m N-S; 42m E-W) defined by a flat-topped bank (Wth of top 1.5m; Wth of base 3.5-4m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.6-1.8m) with a modern external drainage ditch N-SW, and by a stone-faced field bank (Wth 3.5m; H 0.8-1m) SW-N. The original entrance is a gap (Wth 1.8m) in the bank at SE. The bank forms the boundary with Ballycashin N-E and with Kilronan SW-N. The interior is planted with deciduous trees.   Situated on a N-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 38m) defined by a widely spread bank (Wth 7-9m; max. H 0.5m) and an outer fosse best preserved S-W-N (Wth of top 11-12m; max. D 0.4m). There are entrances are at N (Wth 3m) and NE (Wth 4m). An aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDQ 94) shows cropmarks of a rectangular field system (WA017-032002-) covering c. 3ha to the N and E, which are not visible at ground level but which are marked on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map.   Description

  Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. The parish church of Kilburne which was in ruins in 1615 (Anon. 1902, 111) is within a rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 65m E-W; c. 45m N-S). The church is an undifferentiated structure (ext. dims. 20m E-W; 6.85m N-S) of which only the N and E walls survive (max. H c. 2.4m) with traces of one light in the N wall. A cross-wall towards the W end of the church forms a small cell (int. dims. 3.05m E-W; 4.82m N-S) described as a tower (Power 1895b, 165-6). Attached to the S wall of the church, at the W end, is a small cell of drystone-walling (int. dims. 6m N-S; 3.6m E-W). A portal tomb (WA026-003----) is incorporated into the wall of the rectangular graveyard at the SE corner. Anon.   Situated on a gentle S-facing slope, and constructed of local stone. It is facing NW up a gentle slope and is built into the wall of the graveyard around Knockeen church (WA017-033001-). It is complete with two portal-stones, two sidestones, a backstone and a sillstone. A rectangular roofstone rests on the portal-stones, and a subsidiary roofstone lies over the sidestones and backstone.   Description

  Situated on a S-facing slope, just below rock outcrop to the N. A collapsed circular chamber (diam. c. 2.4m) connected by a creep (L c. 1.2m) to an intact oval chamber (dims. c. 3.35m x c. 1.5m; H c. 1.5m) which has a blocked entrance passage (L 1.5m), at the far end. It was discovered in the 1890s when it was reportedly associated with slight traces of a 'lios' (WA017-097001-) (P. 1894-5; Anon. 1912, 279).
