  A 10 year permission to upgrade, reorientation and expansion of previously permitted electricity substation granted as part of Coole Wind Farm (Pl. Ref 17/6292; ABP Ref PL25M/300686) in the townland of Camagh (Fore by). The laying of underground cabling predominantly along the public road corridor to facilitate the connection to the national grid of the permitted wind farm along a route measuring approximately 26.4 kilometres, through the townlands listed below, between the proposed substation in the townland of Camagh (Fore by) and the existing Mullingar 110kV substation in the townland of Irishtown (Moyashel and Magheradernon by). Works to complete the cable connection to the existing Mullingar 110kV electricity substation including the construction of a dedicated bay within the existing substation compound in the townland of Irishtown(Moyashel and Magheradernon by). All associated site works and ancillary development. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared in respect of the proposed development.

• WM003-082 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on W facing slope of rising ground in grassland, with extensive views to W. Ringfort (WM003-081---)130m to N. A slightly raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 26m NW-SE) enclosed by two earthen banks and a narrow steep intervening fosse. The inner bank is substantial and well preserved, with an entrance gap (Wth 1.45m) at WSW. The outer bank is low, and the fosse has been filled in from SW-NW. From NW-E-SE a field fence, which is also the boundary with Mayne townland, runs along the line of this outer bank.   Description

  Annotated as ‘Moteen’ beside Ordnance Datum point for 266ft on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map. No surface remains visible of an antiquity at this location. At the time of visit in 1979 there were signs of recent bulldozing in the field and a roadway was being constructed along the N side of the field fence running E-W.   Description

  Situated on a small hillock, surrounded by gently undulating grassland. Bog visible 700m from SW-NW. Ringfort (WM003-088---) 190m to SSE. The field fence which forms the townland boundary with Mayne curves around the E edge of the monument. No surface remains of this levelled monument. Depicted as a rectangular shaped earthwork with limekiln immediately to E on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map.   Description

  Situated on a slight rise, surrounded by gently undulating grassland. Ringfort (WM003-087---) 190m to NNW. The field fences which form the boundaries with the townlands of Simonstown and Lispopple are 38m to the NE and 40m to the E respectively. Depicted as a sub-circular shaped enclosure (approx. diam. 30m E-W) on the 1837 ed. OS 6 inch map. The site has been almost completely levelled, all that remains are vague traces of a very low, wide fragmentary earthen bank (Wth 3.4m; H 0.05m).
