• WM025-093 Cist
  Description

  Situated in a farmyard. Not depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map or the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Monument described in 1981 as no surface remains visible. According to Waddell (1970, 99) this is a Bronze Age burial consisting of a short rectangular cist (dims. 1m E-W x 0.63m N-S). It contained a portion of a disarticulated human skeleton which may represent a possible reburial. Two fragments of cremated bone were also found in this cist. • WM025-135 Enclosure
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture. Ringfort (WM025-136----) lies c. 65m to SE. A circular earthwork outlined by a scarp with a long L-shaped ruin in the interior , annotated 'fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map. Monument described in 1971 as an earthwork known locally as the ‘little fort’ which is located in the W corner of the field which contains ringfort (WM025-136----). According to local information this monument was levelled a number of years ago. The land has been drained recently and many small stones are scattered across the site. • WM025-136 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. Monument described in 1971 as a small, roughly circular-shaped area enclosed by the slight remains of an earth and stone bank with no visible trace of an external fosse. The site has been planted recently and the outer face of the bank has been faced with large stones and drystone masonry. No entrance feature visible. A conjoined house site (WM025-136001-) and the remains of a partition bank are visible within the interior. A field report from 1977 describes a segmental-shaped annex adjoining the exterior at SE. This in turn has a possible square-shaped earthwork adjoining to SE. See attached plan and profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.   Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. In ringfort (WM025-136----) are the stone foundations of a long rectangular-shaped conjoined house site. The southern house site is almost square-shaped and adjoins the interior of the ringfort bank at S. Conjoined to N is a long rectangular-shaped house site with an entrance in the centre of the E side.
