• WM027-028 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in relatively low lying tillage. Annotated 'Fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as a small circular-shaped earthwork. Levelled monument described in 1971 as an oval-shaped rise (dims. 38m NNE-SSW; 30.5m ESE-WNW) with no definite traces of artificial features. The monument and the field around it has been ploughed and planted with corn. Levelled monument visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography as an oval-shaped cropmark (dims. 19.5m NNE-SSW; 17m ESE-WNW) defined by a narrow dark-green band of differential growth which probably represents a backfilled fosse. • WM027-029 Barrow - ditch barrow
  Description

  Situated in low lying pasture, with views restricted by the surrounding landscape. Depicted on the 1913 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1971 and 1976 as a raised roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 23.4m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by a scarp and external fosse. The scarp is very slight as is the fosse (Wth at top 4.4m). The interior is flat and no features are discernible. There is a very slight depression running NE-SW across the monument. • D'Arcy's Bridge, bridge, 1800–1810 · Regional interest
  Description

  Single-arch canal bridge carrying road over Royal Canal, built c.1805. Constructed of dressed limestone with ashlar limestone detailing including a projecting string course at parapet base level/road level and ashlar coping over parapet walls. Located to the southeast of Killucan.

• Hyde Park, country house, 1770–1780 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached five-bay two-storey over basement country house, built c.1775, having three-storey returns to the rear (south). Hipped natural slate roofs with slightly overhanging eaves and rendered chimneystacks to the rear pitch of roof (south). Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed openings having cut stone sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to the ground floor openings and three-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to first floor openings. Windows retain crown glass panels. Central round-headed doorcase to the principal façade (north) having a cut limestone blocked architraved doorcase with keystone, rasied and fielded timber panelled door and a radial fanlight over. Doorway flanked by sidelights to either side. Doorway reached by flight of cut stone steps flanked by wrought-iron railings to either side. Set back from road in extensive mature grounds to the southeast of Killucan with main entrance to the west (15402737).

• Hyde Park, demesne walls/gates/railings, 1800–1820 · Regional interest
  Description

  Main entrance gates serving Hyde Park (15402736), erected c.1810, comprising four ashlar limestone gate piers, on square-plan having shallow pyramidal caps over, supporting modern cast-iron and wrought-iron gates. Rebuilt rubble limestone boundary walls, on quadrant plan, to the north and south sides. Located to the west of Hyde Park House and to the southeast of Killucan.
