Description
Situated on gently sloping ridge in poorly drained grassland, with fairly good views all around. Possible moated site (WM013-010---) 20m to N. Roughly square-shaped area (approx. diam. 26m NW-SE; 38m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank from S-W-N-NE, and by a straight field fence and stream at E which forms the townland boundary with Ballynaskeagh. Traces of cultivation ridges aligned NE-SW visible running across the interior. Possible entrance gap (Wth 3.2m) at N. See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI. Description
Situated on poorly drained undulating grassland, with fairly good views of the surrounding countryside. Possible moated site (WM013-009---) 20m to S. This monument has been partly destroyed. All that remains is an arc of an earthen bank on the S side of a field fence running E-W with possible entrance gap at ESE. Monument intersected at E by field fence and stream running N-S which forms the townland boundary with Ballynaskeagh. See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
