  Description

  The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Approximately circular cairn (diam. 19m) surrounded by stone bank c. 2m outside cairn (Wth of bank c. 3m). Situated on ridge of Blackstairs Mountains on Co. Wexford border, and damaged on Wexford side.

  Description

  Situated on a summit of the Blackstairs Mountains known as Poul Art. This is a flat-topped caim (diam. of top 5-7m; diam. of base 19m; H 1.7-2m) with some quarry holes excavated in it. It is surrounded by a grass-covered bank of stones (Wth 3m; H 0.3-0.5m) which is separated from the cairn by berm (Wth 2m) except from W-N where it is immediately adjacent. The bank is absent from E-S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
