  Description

  The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Late eighteenth-century house with Gothic revival features incorporates remains of tower house of rectangular plan. Original tower house at N end is recognisable at ground level by massive walls (T 1.5m), stone-flagged floor, and part of loop in E wall and mural stair. Large fireplace and entrance in N wall are probably of eighteenth-century date. No indications of barrel vaulting. Some indications of a loop embrasure or possibly cupboard on first floor but little evidence that tower house survives above ground-floor level. (Carloviana 1956, 14-15)

  Description

  Detached five-bay two-storey Tudor Revival house with half-dormer attic, c. 1835, incorporating fabric of tower house, c. 1550, and house, c. 1750, with three-storey tower to front having projecting open porch, mullioned windows and flanking turret. Interior retains joinery, c. 1750 - c. 1835. Designed by Daniel Robertson.

  Description

  Stable complex, dating from c. 1780 to c. 1840, comprising ranges of buildings including three-bay single-storey coach house with granite ashlar façade having rusticated surrounds to openings with Coade stone and granite scrolled keystones.

  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, c. 1725, with pedimented central breakfront having block-and-start doorcase and advanced chimney breasts to gable ends. Renovated and refenestrated, c. 1990.
