  Description

  The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 On summit of Mount Leinster. Approximately circular cairn (present diam. 18m; H c. 2m), formerly contained by drystone walling. Possible kerb stone visible at N. Possible entrance passage visible at S. Now considerably disturbed by construction of OS trigonometrical station in large hollow at centre.

  Description

  Detached five-bay single-cell granite built Gothic Revival Catholic church, built 1885, with lancet-arch window openings, buttresses, cut stone dressings, chancel and sacristy. Interior with stained glass window to east, dated 1867, and open truss roof. Freestanding belfry to site salvaged from earlier church.
