- CV015-010002 Bullaun stone
Description
Davies (1948, 78-9) noted some banks which possibly marked the foundations of the friary. He also recorded portion of a 15th-century cusped ogee window, a bullaun and a piece of flanged gable-coping at the site. In addition, he noted the tradition of an 'unassuming Mass-house' which was in existence as late as 1800 and lay within the enclosure (CV015-010001-) which surrounds the site of the friary. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
