  Raised circular area (int. diam. 34.3m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse, waterlogged from SSW-NW. Earthen deposits outside of fosse at NW are modern, relating to the re-cutting of the counterscarp to widen the fosse. Original entrance riot recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
