Description
At the crest of a gentle S-facing slope in pasture. Hachured on the both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This partly overgrown subrectangular rath (int. dims. 16.4m N-S; 16m E-W; ext. dims. 26m N-S; 23.6m E-W) with rounded corners is defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 3.5-5.2m; int. H 0.1-0.4m; ext. Description
On the SE-facing slope of a low ridge. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. This large, oval-shaped cashel (53m NNW-SSE; 44m ENE-WSW) is defined from NNE-E-SE by a stony bank (Wth 5m; max. H 0.5m) overlain by a later drystone wall (max. H 1.4m), and at W by a double-faced drystone wall (Wth 1m; max. H 1.4m). From NW-NNE and SE-SW the cashel wall has been removed but the perimeter is traceable as a low scarp from SE-SW. Description
Situated on level ground which slopes slightly to the S. Indicated as a hachured circular feature on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. This is a modern D-shaped clearance cairn (8.2m NE-SW; 9.6m NW-SE) with a straight E face, comprising some large stones (diam. 0.8m) at the base.
