• CL033-063 House - 18th/19th century
  Description

  Situated on an undulating karst landscape. Listed in the RMP (1996) as 'House - 17th century, possible'. Weir (1986, 89-90) states that the original part of this house at the rear may be 17th century in date. On inspection in 2000 this was found to be a three-bay two-storey house with large windows most likely of 19th century date. No evidence of an earlier date was noted. Archaeological testing (Licence no. 02E0566) in 2002 (Grant 2004, 42, no. 157) in connection with the outbuildings did not produce any archaeological material.   Description

  On a slight rise in reclaimed pasture with a SW-NE stream c. 20m to the SE. Hachured as a circular enclosure (diam c. 30m) on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a circular walled enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1921 ed. It is not visible at ground level.   Description

  Situated at the crest of a S-facing slope. Named 'Killanure Children's Burial Ground' on the 1921 OS 6-inch map but listed as 'Burial Ground' in the RMP (1996). A subrectangular scrub-covered mound (c. 20m E-W; c. 13m N-S; H 1m at S) defined by a scarp at S, and a N-S field wall at W, but the perimeter elsewhere is obscured by spoil.
