  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey L-plan former house, built c. 1900, having advanced gabled bay to east with canted-bay window, canted-bay window to west, and three-bay east elevation with lower further bay. Now in use as health care centre. Recent seven-bay single-storey extension to west. Pitched artificial slate roof having rendered chimneystack with terracotta chimneypots, ridge crestings, carved timber bargeboards and eaves, and finials to gables. Painted rendered walls with rendered plinth course. Square-headed window openings, having paired windows to first floor of end bays of front elevation and to middle bay of east elevation, with replacement uPVC windows, painted moulded render surrounds and painted sills. Square-headed door opening to front elevation having moulded shouldered render surround, timber panelled door, decorative ogee-headed sidelights with timber panelled risers and surmounted by quatrefoil overlights, and with plain overlight to door.

  Gateway, erected c. 1890, comprising outer ashlar limestone piers with plinths, carved caps and cast-iron finials to curving ornate cast-iron railings connecting to ornate cast-iron piers with capitals and ball finials, having ornate double-leaf cast-iron vehicular gates.

  Detached three-bay two-storey house over basement. Two-bay single-storey addition to south-east gable and extension to rear. Hipped roof. Rendered walls. Square-headed tripartite timber sliding sash windows. Recessed round-headed entrance doorway. Outbuildings to house.

  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1855, having canted end bays to front elevation, and two-bay side elevations. Half-hipped slate roof with render eaves course and rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls except for front which has exposed rubble limestone walls, with render plinth course. Square-headed windows to first floor and camber-headed to ground floor, with timber sliding sash windows, one-over-one pane except for window to middle fo first floor of front elevation which is two-over-two pane and has limestone label-moulding. Doorways to ground floor of canted bays and all openings to same bays have brick surrounds. Elliptical-headed main entrance doorway has cut limestone archiviolt and hood-moulding, and timber panelled door with sidelights and arcaded glazing to fanlight. Outbuilding to rear with pitched slate roof. Entrance gateway comprises square-profile inner and outer piers, having limestone caps, and inner piers having terracotta pineapple finials. Cast-iron double-leaf vehicular gates. Approach walls are coursed rubble limestone with cut limestone copings.
