Description
In ploughed field, atop ridge. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps; fosse shown as surviving S->NNW on 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; concentration of stones scattered across site. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of fosse in aerial photograph (GSIAP, R522). Ringfort (CO026-137---) lies c. 160m to WNW. Description
In pasture, atop N-S ridge. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps; external fosse E->NNW clearly shown on 1935 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; slightly raised, roughly circular area (48m N-S; 42m E-W) survives, with uneven surface and rough vegetation. Used as a dumping ground. In tillage, on E-facing slope. Circular enclosure (33m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by levelled bank, visible as slight rise to E and as differential growth pattern elsewhere.
