Description
In pasture, on E-facing slope. Discovered 1986 when roof of stone-built chamber collapsed. Chamber (L c. 4.7m; Wth 0.6m) considerably infilled with sediment; roofed with capstones. Recently cut, narrow trench across chamber in N-S direction. (pers. comm. R.M. Cleary) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
