  Description

  In pasture, atop hill. Roughly circular area (c. 44m E-W) enclosed by heavily overgrown, earthen bank (int. H 1.25m; ext. H 1.3m); external fosse (max. D 0.3m) to N and SSW. Rubble dumped on bank to S. Break (Wth 4.6m) in bank to NW. Fosse to SSW narrow where possible counterscarp bank (H 0.6m) exists. Dump for farmyard manure in W half of interior; E half partially waterlogged with rushes growing in it. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.   Description

  In pasture, on E-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; roughly circular area (34m E-W; 29m N-S) defined by low rise (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.35m) with slight external depression to SE. Break in low rise to E for short distance. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of bank and external fosse in aerial photograph (CASAP).   Description

  Overgrown lime kiln, built against rock face in limestone quarry. Random-rubble walls encase core. Front elevation (H c. 5m) has brick-arched recess (H 2.4m; Wth c. 2.2m) with holes along top of side walls to support centring of arch. Rear of recess collapsed; funnel collapsing into recess.
