Description
In tillage, on S-facing slope on E-W ridge overlooking Owenboy river to S; Carrigaline village to SE. Covered by beehive-shaped stone structure (H 2m; diam. 2.75m; wall thickness 0.4m); entrance to S. Topped with crude limestone cross embedded in concrete; five other crosses inscribed on outside walls. Inside, corbelled roof; circular plinth surrounds well; numeorus votive offerings. According to information plaque, "in the early 19th century large crowds attended the pattern every St. John's Eve ....to drink the water". Circular area (33.8m N-S; c. 32m E-W) defined by overgrown earthen bank (H 1.2m) NE->SSE; stone faced in parts; scarp (H 0.4m) SSE->SSW; footpath and road to W; field fence to N. In tillage, on S-facing slope. Cropmark (AP, Dr. D.D.C. Pochin Mould) shows circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). No visible surface trace in ploughed field. Description
Detached five-bay two-storey house, dated 1849, having recessed central bay with tooled limestone entrance to front (south). Earlier three-bay two-storey block to side (west), built c.1780, having breakfront end bay and conservatory to front (south). Ashlar limestone canted bay windows to slightly breakfront end bays to side (east, west) elevations of main block. Historic two-storey pitched roof extension, later two-storey lean-to and recent single-storey lean-to extensions to rear (north). Hipped slate roofs to main block with rendered chimneystacks, overhanging timber clad eaves and cast-iron rainwater goods. Hipped slate roof to earlier block, pitched and single pitched slate roofs to extensions and additions. Glazed roof to timber frame of conservatory. Rendered walls throughout, having ashlar limestone plinth, quoins and string course below eaves level, quoin stone to south-east corner inscribed ‘Ralph Westrop A.D.1849’. Square-headed window openings with stone sills to first floor front elevation, side elevations and earlier block, having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed window openings with stone sills to ground floor of front elevation having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows with fanlights to upper sashes. Square-headed window openings to ground floor of side (east) and rear elevations, having nine-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed window openings with tooled limestone sill courses to canted bays, having six-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed door opening within doorcase to interior of porch having square-headed double-leaf glazed timber doors and spoked fanlight. Square-headed door opening to rear elevation having glazed timber door. Ashlar limestone entrance screen to front elevation, having flat roof with balustrade parapet and capped piers with decorative relief carvings over corniced eaves course. Relief carvings to walls, including channelling, corbelling with consoles and heraldic devices. Round-headed window openings with tooled stone sills over panelled stall risers, having timber casement windows. Round-headed door opening within having double-leaf glazed timber doors surmounted by spoked fanlight. Pair of opposing side entry limestone stepped approaches with balustrade to front. Set within own extensive grounds, having rendered gate walls with square-profile gate piers and wrought-iron gate opening onto roadside.

Triple-arch limestone road bridge, built c.1790, spanning the Owenboy River. Rubble limestone walls with rendered coping to parapets. Round-headed arches having ashlar limestone voussoirs.

Description
Freestanding cruciform-plan gable-fronted three-bay double-height Roman Catholic church, dated 1957, having eight-bay nave with clerestory, lean-to single-storey side aisles and gable-fronted single-storey transepts to sides (north, south). Bow-fronted chancel with conical roof to rear (east) and three stage bell tower to south-east corner. Single- and two-bay barrel roofed porches to transepts. Pitched slate roofs with red brick eaves throughout, having tooled limestone gable copings with cruciform finials and cast-iron rainwater goods. Hipped slate roof with cruciform finial to tower. Stretcher bond red brick walls with incised rendered plinth, having carved limestone string courses and square-headed recesses to window bays. Limestone carving of the four evangelists to front elevation and carved limestone stations of the cross to southern side aisle. Group of three round-headed window openings within shared moulded render surround with archivolts and chamfered sills to front elevation, having lead-lined stained glass windows. Round-headed window openings with tooled limestone and render sills elsewhere in single and paired arrangements, having red brick voussoirs and timber-framed lead-lined stained glass windows. Round-headed louvre openings with red brick voussoirs with keystones to upper stage of bell tower, having timber louvre. Round-headed door openings throughout, having double-leaf timber panelled doors and fanlights, moulded render surrounds and voussoirs to front (west) elevation openings, red brick voussoirs elsewhereFull-height interior with carved timber pews and panelled rendered gallery. Balcony above entrance having glazed parapet, surmounting rendered Doric columns. Carved moulded marble altar, pulpit and reredos on raised mosaic platform with marble steps. Freestanding plinth mounted bellcote within grounds to east, having fluted cast-iron columns surmounted by cast-iron frame and bell displaying embossed lettering. Roughcast rendered enclosing walls having render coping and square-profile gate piers with decorative rendered caps and single and double-leaf cast-iron gates.
