Description
In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; hachured arc of bank remains to N and S of railway line on 1935 OS 6-inch map. Short section of bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.5m) survives to NW on N side of railway line, with c. 3m of interior surface. No visible surface trace of enclosure remains to S of railway line. Souterrain (CO033-04202-) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). Description
Single-arch limestone railway bridge, built c. 1860, carrying road traffic over disused railway line. Rusticated walls with rounded copings to parapets, and dressed stone string course above segmental arch with rusticated voussoirs. Ashlar masonry to soffit.
