Description
In hilly pasture. Stone-lined circular well (diam. 1.3m), enclosed by circular stone wall with corbelled roof; opening to N with steps down (D 0.7m) to well. Three cross-shaped recesses on external face of enclosing wall; matching rectangular recesses internally contain statues and votive offerings. Description
On terrace of SW-facing slope near foot of ridge of outcropping rock, overlooking valley of River Lee. Comprises gallery (L at least 3.5m; Wth 1.2m at W end) aligned E-W, represented by three sidestones to N and S; E end is collapsed. Two low stones inside W end may be jamb stones. Gallery decreases in height W to E. Outer-wall stones along N, E and S sides. Single roofstone rests above collapsed E section of gallery. Named 'Carrigapoultaluan' on 1904 OS 6-inch map; name translated by O'Donoghue (1986, 250) as 'Carraig a'Pholl Talmhan (rock of the souterrain ). According to local information there were several chambers with stone-lined walls; roofed with stone lintels. Only approximate location now known locally. Description
Detached three-bay single-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1900, having recent flat-roofed porch to front (east) and recent flat-roofed extension to rear (west). Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls with rendered plinth to side (north) elevation. Square-headed window openings with render sills having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening to porch with glazed timber door and sidelights opening to rendered stepped approach. Single-storey outbuildings to rear having pitched slate roofs and painted rubble stone walls. Square-headed door openings with timber battened doors. Set within own grounds.
