  Description

  In pasture, on E-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 35m) enclosed by heavily overgrown earthen bank (int. H 2.1m); external fosse (D 1.75m) SSE->NNE. Entrance (Wth 6m) to ESE. Interior raised on E side to compensate for hillslope; partially overgrown with bushes. Short length of field fence depicted skirting bank NNW->NE on 1905 OS 6-inch map; Bowman (1934, 183) describes fort, on C. O'Flynn's land, as double rampart with '5/6 of outer rampart levelled, remaining part c. 4 feet H'; possible souterrain (CO023-277---) in interior.
