Description
In tillage on S-facing slope. Roughly circular spread (20m N-S; 16m E-W) of burnt material. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Description
Cast-iron post box, built c. 1915, with G.R., insignia and crown. Set in wall opposite railway station.
- Glounthaune Station, foot bridge, 1860–1865 · Regional interest
Description
Freestanding single-span cast-iron foot bridge over railway track, built 1862, with staircases to east and west elevations, one to each platform. Depressed three-centred arch supported on eight cast-iron columns, four to each platform. Maker's mark to column shaft. Cross-braced parapets to bridge and staircases. Staircases terminated at base by decorative cast-iron colonettes.
