  Description

  In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps; fosse shown to NW on 1935 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; circular area (36m N-S) raised 0.35m above surrounding field level. Slight evidence for fosse as depression, difficult to trace due to long grass.   Description

  Built against natural slope; indicated on 1842 OS 6-inch map in quarry. Overgrown, random-rubble limestone front wall (H 3.2m; Wth c. 8m) on S side retains earthen core. Lintelled corbelled recess (H c. 2.8m: Wth 1.8m: D c. 2.1m) with stoking hole. Recess and forecourt filled with rubble. Funnel infilled.   Description

  On N side of Ballyhooly-Fermoy road. Rectangular graveyard (c. 50m E-W; c. 40m N-S) enclosed by stone-faced earthen bank; gate at E end of S side approached by short passage from road. Ruin of parish church of Killathy (14432) off-centre to W. In use; some 18th-19th century headstones and low uninscribed gravemarkers occur, mainly to S of church; more recent headstones N of church. Large cut-limestone pedimented mausoleum of Jacksons on E side, facing entrance (Roche 1988, 12). Venerated grave of Reverend John Leonard, who died in 1803, marked by stone with Latin inscription (ibid., 26-7; Grove White 1905-25, vol. 1, 229; ibid., vol. 3, 296-9).   Description

  Off-centre to W in graveyard (14591). Ruin of church comprising nave (14.6m WSW-ENE; 8.6m NNW-SSE) and chancel (6.8m WSW-ENE; 5.2m NNW-SSE), built of random-rubble limestone. Remains densely overgrown. South wall of nave has ruined window embrasure near E end; wide gap W-of-centre (Wth c. 3m) may indicate position of doorway. North wall has doorway (Wth 1.4m) near E end covered by segmental arch, sides collapsed. West wall survives to height of side walls (H 3m). East wall of nave has narrow bluntly pointed chancel arch. Chancel has large burial vault inserted at W end. East gable stands to full height. Broken gap (Wth c. 1.2m) in S wall probably indicates window position. Remains of parish church of Killathy. Reported 'in ruins' in 1774 (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 45). Power (1932, 30) identifies Killathy with Ceall Aichedh, subsidiary church of Tuath O Quain, in Crichad an Chaoilli.   Description

  Detached gable-fronted mausoleum, built c. 1820, now roofless and pedimented to front and rear elevations. Cut limestone eaves course to rear and side elevations, moulded limestone copings to pediment and cut limestone plinth to front elevation. Cut limestone walls to front elevation and rendered elsehwere. Rusticated carved limestone Doric-style pilasters to front elevation, having moulded plinths and capitals, with moulded limestone impost course. Round-headed entrance opening with double-leaf cast-iron gate and having railings above. Remains of medieval church to north-west. Square-profile piers to graveyard entrance, having rounded caps, wrought-iron gate and with stone stile to east side.
