  Description

  In level pasture with lower ground to W and SW. Roughly circular, slightly raised area (28m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.7m); silted-up fosse. Field fence atop levelled bank N->E. Hole (diam. 2m; D 1.5m) dug in bank to SSW. Field clearance stones dumped against external bank face to N. Break in bank (Wth 1.4m) to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 1/1975).
