  Description

  In pasture, on edge of glen to NE and E. Circular area (41.7m E-W; 41m N-S) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse; second intervening fosse and third earthen bank (max. H 1.3m) survives to NNW, E->SE and SSE->SW; outer fosse (D 0.3m) to SE, S and SW. Inner bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. H 3.95m) broken to SE (Wth 2m) and NW (Wth 4.9m); possible entrance (Wth 2m) to NE. Middle bank (H 1.35m) levelled NNE->E; break to SE (Wth 1.4m) and to WNW (Wth 3.2m). Defences to E partly sited on steep E-facing slope of glen. Interior slopes down to ESE; roughly rectangular hut site (6m NNE-SSW; 4m SSE-NNW) adjoining ESE bank and enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.4m).   In pasture, c. 20m E of stream. Two adjacent mounds (11347, 11348) shown on 1937 OS 6-inch map. All three levelled; large spread of burnt material incorporates burnt material from each mound. Fourth fulacht fiadh (11349) c. 10m to SE. Bowman (1934,161) recorded a wooden trough found close by...'the planks at the bottom varied from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 ins. in thickness.   Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps; shown on 1937 OS 6-inch map as roughly circular area (c. 45m NE-SW; c. 40m NW-SE) defined by broken line, enclosing church site (14518). In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Low scarp (H 0.66m) defines edge of enclosure (C 46m) SW->E. Interior under grass. Known locally as 'fairy ring'. According to local information, during ploughing "in the past" several headstones were found and dumped into "nearby field fence". Bowman (1934, 161) was informed that 'many years ago portion of the site was ploughed and human bones unearthed'.   Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps; marked within burial ground (14143) on 1937 OS 6-inch map. According to Bowman (1934, 161), 'grass-covered mounds mark the site on North'. The two mounds survive standing 9m apart. The first, is oval in plan (3.5m NE-SW; 4.5m NW-SE; H 0.6m) with overgrown hollow (7.5m NE-SW; c. 3m NW-SE; D 0.8m) adjacent to SE side; second to S (5m NE-SW; 6m NW-SE) is subcircular in plan.
