Description
Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled during construction of Cork-Mallow railway line. No visible surface trace. Description
Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as D-shaped area (c. 60m N-S; c. 50m E-W) defined by field fence N->S; open on straight side (W). Cork-Dublin railway line now cuts through site on NW-SE axis leaving arc of fence to N and E. Section remaining on NE side of railway line known locally as burial ground. Description
In pasture, on W-facing slope. Circular area (37.3m E-W; 36m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (max. int. H 2.6m). Drain runs immediately outside and concentric to bank to N and E; laneway skirts site to S. Break in bank to W; smaller gaps worn by cattle to E and NNW. Description
In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured rectangular enclosure (c. 50m NE-SW; c. 35m SE-NW) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as rectangular field on 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Rectangular area (53m NE-SW; 38m SE-NW) defined by earthen bank (H 2m) to NE and SE; low grass-covered rise (H 0.3m) to SW and NW. Bank to NE and SE incorporated into field fence system; heavily overgrown. No evidence for fosse except on SE side where external surface slopes gently down to base of bank.
