This application pertains to proposed changes to the permitted development of Inner Bantry Harbour Development, Planning Ref 12/00735. This development is being undertaken in a phased basis. Phase 1 consists of the constructing the permitted widening the Town Pier, dredging a portion of the overall permitted dredge area, installing a portion of the permitted marina pontoon structures, construction of the permitted quayside reclamation and construction of the permitted amenity area. It is proposed to install a Floating breakwater in the location of the permitted fixed rubble mound breakwater. This breakwater is moored using block and chain anchoring so it can be moved to allow for the construction of the fixed breakwater in a future phase of the development. It is proposed to re align the previously permitted marina pontoon structure adjacent to the Quayside reclamation. The re aligned section will be moored using block and chain anchoring allowing for future re alignment when Phase 2 of the Bantry inner harbour project. It is proposed to alter the alignment of the proposed Town pier extension at the head of the pier. The proposed realignment is within the permitted outline of the pier widening. It is also proposed to extend site working hours by two hours during weekdays from 8am to 8pm.
