  Description

  In pasture. Circular area (diam. 26m) enclosed by low, eroded earthen bank, topped in parts by field clearance stones. Hartnett (1939, 105) recorded 'a dry stone wall on the original rampart'. • CO071-022001 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 36m) enclosed by partially grass-covered collapsed wall (max. ext. H 0.7m; T 7m). Wall mainly collapsed outwards especially on downslope (S); inner face (H 0.8m) remains intact to E for c. 7m with ledge (Wth 0.28m) surviving 0.4m above ground level. Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope; small grass-covered mounds of dumped stones and loose stones scattered across surface. Standing stone (CO071-022002-) inside wall to SW. Ringfort (CO071-023---) in same field c. 70m to SE. Standing stone (CO071-024----) c. 150m to ENE. Surrounding field fences removed.   Description

  Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Within SE quadrant of levelled cashel (CO071-022001-). Stone (H 0.9m; 1m x 0.3m) is subrectangular in plan, long axis WNW-ESE.   Description

  In reclaimed pasture. No visible surface trace of features which Hartnett (PJH) described as 'the foundations of hut sites....one, which is fairly definite, is oblong in ground plan 15ft by 6ft....only a few inches of the foundations remain....there are others but it would be well nigh impossible without clearing the site of loose stones etc., to attempt to plan them'. • CO071-023 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture. Roughly circular area (diam. 37.5m) defined by earthen bank (H 1m) with traces of shallow external fosse. Surrounding field fences removed and material dumped in interior. Hartnett (1939, 105-6) recorded an outer rampart surviving to N, circular cell in bank to NW and rectangular cell in bank to E, said locally to have been remains of limekilns but no evidence of burning was noted. No visible surface trace of cell-like features noted. Standing stone (CO071-022002-) and levelled cashel (CO071-022001-) in same field to NW.
