Description
Terraced three-bay three-storey former house formerly with integral carriage arch, built c.1820, now in use as restaurant and commercial premises. Pitched slate roof with rendered and red brick chimneystacks having rendered copings, render eaves course projecting and uPVC rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with channelled render and plinth to ground floor. Limestone sill course to first floor and render sill band to second floor. Slate hanging to gable (south-east). Square-headed diminishing window openings having rendered sills. Nine-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to second floor, six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to third floor. Four-over-four pane timber sliding sash window to gable. Central elliptical-headed door opening with moulded render surround comprising channelled pilasters, single-pane overlight and uPVC door. Segmental-headed door opening to east end having uPVC door with overlight and sidelight. Tooled limestone elliptical-headed integral carriage arch to west end with pilasters supporting voussoirs, containing recent timber shopfront. Located facing on to Pearse Street.

Pitched slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks to gable ends, concealed gutters, cast-iron downpipes and moulded render eaves course. Slate hanging to front (south-west) and side (north-west) elevations. Rendered wall to rear (north-east) elevation. Channelled render to ground floor front elevation with render entablature comprising architrave, cornice, capped consoles and frieze having render lettering. Diminishing square-headed window openings with stone sills having replacement timber sliding sash windows. Twelve-over-eight pane to first floor, eight-over-eight pane to second floor and eight-over-four pane to third floor. Fixed timber framed multiple-pane display window to ground floor front elevation. Blocked window and replacement uPVC window to third floor rear elevation. Round-headed door opening to front elevation with render surround having pilasters, archivolt, keystone and fanlight. Timber panelled door and stone stepped approach with recent access ramp and cast-iron railing.

Slate hanging to front (south-west) elevation. Rendered walls to rear (north-east) and side (south-east). Channelled render to ground floor front elevation with moulded render impost course. Continuous moulded render hood mouldings to ground floor openings. Diminishing square-headed window openings with stone sills, having render surrounds to first and second floors. Replacement uPVC sliding sash windows with twelve-over-eight pane to first floor, eight-over-eight pane to second floor and eight-over-four pane to third floor. Eight-over-four pane to third floor of side elevation. Square-headed window opening to rear having replacement uPVC casement window. Segmental-arched window opening to ground floor front elevation, with rendered sill having decoratively moulded margins, bowtell moulding to header with keystone displaying Art Nouveau style monogram. Fixed timber framed six-pane display window. Segmental-arched door opening to front elevation with bowtell moulding to header, double-leaf timber panelled doors and spoked fanlight. Cut limestone stepped approach. Round-headed door opening to interior porch, timber framed doorcase comprising decorated pilasters and spoked fanlight. Recent double-leaf glazed timber doors. Square-headed door opening to basement level having timber battened door. Plinth to front with tooled limestone coping surmounted by cast-iron spear-headed railings and gate.

Semi-detached nine-bay three-storey former warehouse, built c.1800, having recent shopfronts. Multiple extensions to rear (north-east) and side (south-east). Currently in use as retail outlet. Pitched slate roof, cast-iron rainwater goods and timber bargeboards. Slate hanging to front (south-west) and side (south-east) elevations. Exposed rubble stone walls with sections of render to rear (north-east) elevation. Square-headed window openings throughout with painted sills. Raised render reveals and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to front elevation. Red brick relieving arches and replacement uPVC windows to rear elevation window openings. Recent shopfronts to front elevation. Square-headed window openings over rendered stall risers, having fixed uPVC framed windows and rendered panels. Square-headed door openings, having recent timber, uPVC and galvanised steel framed doors. Fronts onto street.

Semi-detached five-bay three-storey Georgian house, built c.1800, now in use as guest house. Additional three-bay two-storey block to rear (north-east), having single-bay two-storey lean-to extension. Recent extension to side (north-west). Pitched slate roofs with terracotta ridge tiles, cast-iron rainwater goods, rendered chimneystacks and render eaves course. uPVC rainwater goods to side of house and rear of additional block and extension. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with moulded render surrounds, painted stone sills over render corbels to front (south-west) and side (north-west) elevations. Diminishing window openings to front. Two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to ground and first floors, three-over-three pane windows to second floor. Square-headed window openings to rear of additional block with stone sills, having six-over-six and three-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed door opening to front elevation within decorative tooled limestone doorcase comprising engaged Doric columns, frieze and cornice. Timber panelled door with overlight. Tooled limestone stepped approach flanked by ashlar limestone plinths to street front with cast-iron spear-headed railings. Outbuilding with chimney to rear, now ruinous. Located on main street with views over harbour.

Attached five-bay three-storey with dormer attic former house, built c.1800, renovated c.1880. Central three-storey breakfront (canted to upper floors) with roofed cast-iron verandah supported on columns and brackets. Two-bay two-storey addition to side (east) and two-bay two-storey dormer attic addition to rear (north). Numerous recent extensions to rear. Now in use as hotel. Pitched slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks. Moulded render parapet to main block having concealed gutters, string course and capped console label stops. Hipped slate roof to side (east) addition with cast-iron rainwater goods throughout. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with plinth to front elevation. Engaged Doric columns to corners of breakfront to ground floor. Cast-iron verandah to first floor comprising decorative railings, brackets and supporting columns having timber deck, surmounted by lean-to slate roof. Rendered walls to rear (north) and side (east, west) elevations of main block and additions. Square-headed window openings with replacement casement windows. Raised moulded render surrounds to front elevation (south) openings having render sills with supporting corbels. Decorative render hood mouldings of various designs to ground floor windows of main block. One-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to ground and first floors of front elevation. Round-headed door opening with decorative render surround, comprising paired fluted pilasters surmounted by decorative render hood moulding. Timber panelled door surmounted by single-pane fanlight. Tooled limestone stepped approach flanked by rendered plinth with cast-iron railings. Located on street front with views of harbour.
