Description
On 1842 OS 6-inch map as 'Roche's Tower', in demesne of Trabolgan House (CO100-040---). Roofless circular two-storey tower (diam. c. 4.95m) atop hill with commanding view of coast. Ground floor has pointed doorway facing N and tall pointed window opes facing E, S and W. Upper floor has four similar window opes. Fireplace on each floor, in NW wall, with chimney. Description
In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope, c. 80m N of coastline. Circular area (30.2m E-W) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse. Inner bank (int. H 1.8m) stone faced in parts; outer bank (H 0.95m) levelled for short section to WNW and SE. Gap (Wth 4m) in inner bank to E. Interior slopes down to E. Quarry short distance to S of enclosure. Description
Late 18th-century house described by Bence-Jones (1978, 276) as entrance front (S) of '2-storey 8-bay centre with wings of 5 bays on either side, beyond which are shallow curved bows each with 3 windows...central single-storey Doric portico; the wings have round-headed windows'. Rear of 3 storeys. Demolished c. 1989; inscribed stone found during demolition read 'John Roche 1790'. Several estate features survive including gate-lodge, triumphal arch half way up avenue, walled garden, Roche's Tower (6104). Free-standing square chimney (H c. 15m; Wth 2.13m;) c. 450m to N of house; base stone-built, upper 9m brick-built; according to local information, part of gas works which provided light for house. Description
Detached L-plan two-bay two-storey gate lodge, built c. 1860, incorporating fabric of earlier structure and having projecting gable-fronted south bay to front (west) elevation with lean-to porch to north elevation, and lean-to half-glazed extension to north elevation. Pitched artificial slate roofs with overhanging timber strutted eaves and rendered chimneystack. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed window opening to ground floor of gable-fronted south bay, having four-over-four pane timber sliding sash window. Porch comprising half-glazed, half-rendered north wall windows fixed timber paned windows, and square-headed door opening to west elevation having timber battened half-glazed door. Rendered gate piers and wrought-iron railings to north.

Freestanding triumphal arch former gate lodge, built c. 1790, now disused. Comprising rendered walls with render quoins, entablature and dentilated cornice, round-headed arch over road having render Gibbsian-style surround and impost course. Square-headed openings to piers having rendered block-and-start surrounds.

Rendered rubble limestone walls with red brick quoins. Camber-arched window openings with red brick voussoirs and remains of four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows. Attached circular-plan three-stage lighthouse, built c. 1835, having projecting platform encircling lantern, single-bay two-storey flat-roofed curving extension to west elevation and lighthouse keeper's house attached to east elevation. Faceted metal-framed glazed lantern. Rendered walls with corbels supporting platform having metal balustrade. Square-headed window openings to shaft with cut stone sills and timber sliding sash windows, four-over-four pane, and eight-over-eight pane. Three-bay double-pile lighthouse keeper's house attached to east elevation. Pitched artificial slate roof with render coping to gables, rendered chimneystacks with cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with painted sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening with timber battened door. Detached two-bay single-storey engine house to west of site having pitched artificial slate roof with brick eaves course, rendered walls and segmental-headed door opening with double-leaf timber battened door.
