  Description

  There is now no trace of the church or graveyard which formerly stood here. The church was replaced by another in Ramelton town in the early 17th century. A small, carved, window-head (DG037-021002-) is said to have been removed there from the island (Kinahan 1885-6, 424). The site which was located on a small tidal island in Lough Swilly probably dates from at least the 12th/13th century. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
