  Description

  Detached six-bay single-storey former railway station and probable station master’s/railway worker's house, built c. 1893. Later in use as a private house with two-bay single storey flat-roof extension with projecting porch attached to the east gable end. Now disused. Pitched natural slate roof with terracotta ridge cresting, projecting eaves course, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Raised cut stone verges to gable ends. Roughcast rendered walling with rock-faced stone block-and-start quoins to the corners. Segmental-headed window openings with rock-faced stone block-and-start surrounds, smooth rendered reveals, stone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Two segmental-headed door openings to the north elevation having rock-faced stone block-and-start surrounds, smooth rendered reveals, timber panelled doors with glazed upper panels and plain overlights. Square-headed doorway with replacement door to the south-elevation. Former railway line to the south, now infilled. Set back from road to the south-east of Dunkineely. Possible former goods shed to the north-east.

  Description

  Triple-arch railway bridge, built c. 1893, carrying road over the former Donegal Town to Killybegs narrow gauge railway line. Railway lines no out of use with tracks removed (c. 1960). Three concrete segmental-headed arches having concrete lining to arch barrels. Squared and coursed mildly rock-faced rubble sandstone construction to pier abutments, spandrels and to parapets. Projecting rock-faced piers to ends of parapet walls (north-west and south-east). Dressed margins to abutments; rock-faced sandstone coping over parapets. Located to the east of Dunkineely and to the north-east of the former Dunkineely Railway Station (see 40846016).

• Bunlacky Railway Bridge, bridge, 1890–1900 · Regional interest
  Description

  Double-arch railway bridge, built c. 1893, carrying the former Donegal Town to Killybegs narrow gauge railway line over the Bunlacky River. Railway lines no out of use with tracks removed (c. 1960); side elevations now largely covered in vegetation. Tall segmental-headed arches with rock-faced ashlar voussoirs having dressed margins; squared and coursed rubble stone construction to arch barrels. V-profile rock-faced cutwater to central pier. Snecked and squared mildly rock-faced stone construction to spandrels, abutments and to parapets with low rock-faced coping over parapets. Ashlar piers to ends of parapets having rock-faced capstones over. Rock-faced wing walls to either end, curving outwards along with topography. Deck now overgrown with vegetation. Located to the east of Dunkineely. Located just to the north of where the Bunlacky River discharges into Inver Bay.
