Description
Detached three-bay two-storey former Church of Ireland rectory, built c. 1825. Now in use as a private house (since c. 1926) having two-bay two-storey gable-fronted extension attached to the north-west end of the main elevation (north-east), and two-storey flat-roofed extension to rear (south-west). Hipped natural slate roof to main body of building having projecting eaves course, red clayware ridge tiles, smooth rendered chimneystack with circular clay pots over. Replacement rainwater goods. Pitched natural slate roof to extension to the north-west having yellow brick chimney with red clay pot over to the north-east gable end. roughcast rendered walls over smooth rendered plinth course. Square-headed window openings with smooth rendered reveals, painted sills with replacement windows. Central square-headed door opening to main block having smooth rendered reveal, replacement door, and modern stone-clad steps. Set back from road in own grounds to the north\north-east of Newtowncunningham and to the north of associated Church of Ireland church (see 40824003). Long gravelled approach avenue to site from the south\south-east. Detached single and two-storey outbuilding to the north-west having pitched natural slate (south-west section) and corrugated-metal roofs (north-east section), random rubble stone walls, surviving sections of cast-iron rainwater goods including decorative hoppers, square-headed window opening with fixed-pan window, and sqaure0headed doorways with metal and battened timber doors.

Description
Freestanding Church of Ireland church, built 1722 altered internally in 1846, and extended in 1808 and in 1896 or 1910, having four-bay nave with four-stage tower (on square-plan) to the west (added 1808) having corner pilasters rising to cut stone finials over, single-bay single-storey vestry (possibly added in 1846) to the north-east corner of nave, and with polygonal chancel attached to the east (added c. 1896 or 1910). Pitched natural slate roof to nave with projecting ashlar eaves course, replacement rainwater goods; hipped natural slate roof to chancel with leadwork to ridges. Roughcast rendered walls to nave with three stepped clasping buttresses to south elevation and one to the north elevation (diagonally-set to ends of nave) topped by feathered dressed stone copings. Coursed rubble stone construction to tower with projecting stone stringcourses delineating stages, three inscribed plaques at first stage\ground floor level, clockface (on circular-plan) to the west elevation of tower at third stage level, blind oculus\roundel motifs having cut stone surrounds to the tower at second stage level. Rubble stone construction to apsidal chancel having flush sandstone block-and-start quoins to the corners; continuous sill course to chancel. Pointed-arched window openings to side elevations of nave having smooth rendered reveals, stone sills, cast-iron quarry-glazed windows, and with timber Y-tracery. Pointed-arched window openings to nave having chamfered ashlar sandstone block-and-start surrounds and sills, leaded stained\coloured glass windows, and with cut stone hoodmouldings over; curvilinear\flowing cut stone tracery to window opening to centre of chancel. Pointed-arch openings to tower at fourth-stage\belfry level having timber Y-tracery and timber louvers. Pointed-arched doorway to the north face of tower having chamfered staged cut stone surround, battened timber door, and with leaded overlight with painted and coloured glass panels. Pointed-arched door opening to vestry having battened timber door. Marble wall memorials to interior, including one dated 1770; timber hammer beams supported on stone corbels and plain plaster ceiling to roof, timber pews and wainscoting, pointed chancel arch having ashlar surround with engaged columns to base, carved stone baptismal font, marble pulpit (on octagonal-plan) having carved marble panels in relief to faces, encaustic tiled floor. Set back from road in own grounds to the east end of Newtowncunningham. Graveyard to site with mainly upstanding gravemarkers of nineteenth century date. Fence and hedging to site boundaries. Gateway to the west of site having timber lychgate, erected 1920, having pitched natural slate roof over.

Description
Freestanding double-height Catholic church, consecrated 1999, on a ship-based plan with courtyard area to the east created by section of freestanding stone-clad walling with central integral round-headed pedestrian archway with circular perforation over with bell metal bell, and surmounted by metal cross finial. Roof of varied steep pitches in Spanish slate, central rooflight stretching to apex at differing pitches on roof, clayware ridge tiles, lead guttering hidden behind smooth rendered band to eaves. Uncoursed squared Donegal sandstone (Mountcharles) walls with breakfront door surround to south. Oculus window openings to north and south elevations having squared stone-clad voussoirs and surrounds, leaded lights with scenes depicted in coloured glass; angled glass block elevation to west (prow) with sandstone sills. Segmental-headed door opening to the east elevation having recessed vertically sheeted double-doors with glazed sidelights, and with overlight having etched glazing over; shallow single-bay breakfronts to the south and north elevations having square-headed door openings with timber double-doors. Steeply-pitched ceiling to interior with tall tapering rooflight, rows of curved pews, carpeted floors and raised area to west end. Set back from road in own grounds to the centre of Newtowncunningham. Graveyard to site with collection of mainly twentieth-century gravemarkers and some nineteenth-century memorials. Site bounded to the south by roughcast rendered rubble stone boundary wall, hedging and fencing to other boundaries. Site of earlier church to the south-west, built 1861 and demolished c. 2000.
