  Description

  Internal diam. 25m E-W, 27m N-S. A subcircular area bounded by a bank composed of a jumbled mass of large and small stones and earth, and about 1m in height, is the result of modern drainage work but is presumed to conceal a cashel walk. Outside on the E is a modern drain. There is a dense but shallow scatter of loose stone in the interior, probably from the collapse of a wall. Sited in pasture land on gently sloping ground overlooking Mulroy Bay to the W. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.   Description

  Internal diam. 24m NW-SE, 21.5m NE-SW. An oval area enclosed by a largely rebuilt stone wall up to 1.5m high and from 1.5m to 3m wide. A 1.2m wide gap on the NE side has been blocked up in recent times. There is a stretch of outer wall c. 1.5m wide and c. 40m long on the W side from 2m to 5m outside the inner wall. The interior slopes gently from N to S. The site is located on a slight rise in pasture land overlooking Mulroy Bay 250m to the W.   Description

  Investigated by Danagher in April 1964 on behalf of the National Museum of Ireland. Subrectangular short cist (dims. 0.9m NNW-SSE; 0.66m ENE-WSW; D 0.57m) whose N, S and W sides were defined principally by single slabs set on edge. Two slabs defined the E side. The floor was composed of two large flags interspersed with some smaller stones. Fragments of a tripartite vessel were recovered in the grave fill.   Internal diam. c. 21m. A circular area enclosed by drystone wall 1.8m wide and up to 1.7m high. A 4m wide gap on the NW might indicate the original entrance. A number of field boundaries radiate from the site. The site is located on a slight rise in otherwise flat pasture with some rock outcrop.   Description

  A low platform of rock c. 25m across on which there is a good deal of collapsed stone is all that remains of the single-ringed enclosure shown on the 2nd and 3rd editions of the OS 6-inch maps. A number of field boundaries cross the site which is partly overgrown with bushes. The site is located on wettish pasture land. • DG027-015 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  Internal diam. c. 30m. Known as Lisnafealey, the site consists of a roughly circular area enclosed by a very ruined wall, the perimeter of which cannot be traced with certainty. A spread of stone c. 4m wide has been built up 1.6m high, sloping toward the interior on the W side on the line of the cashel wall. There is also a modern facing of stones on the N exterior. There is a modern 5m wide gap on the SW side. A 3m wide gap to the N seems to be modern also. The interior is much disturbed and has been used as a dumping ground. It is said that there was a spring on the NW side but it has been filled in. Also in the NW corner is a series of lines of stones which seem to be the remains of a 'wall chamber roofed with horizontal flags' noted by Kinahan (1889, 278). The site is located on a S-facing slope overlooking Mulroy Bay. There is fair pasture in the area. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Architectural heritage

• House, 1850–1870 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey vernacular house with attic, built c.1860, having single-bay addition recessed to north end and two-bay outbuilding to south end with additional lean-to outbuilding recessed to latter. Pitched thatched roof to house, with concrete copings and chimneystacks to gables, rubble stone to south gable and cement-rendered to north. Thatch tied to eaves using wire fastened to metal fixtures. Square-headed openings with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows with ogee and convex horns, and having four-pane casement window and small disused attic window to rear, latter immediately under eaves, and timber battened door. Fireplace intact to interior. Addition and outbuilding have corrugated-asbestos roofs with concrete copings. Four-bay two-storey outbuilding to north with pitched corrugated-metal roof with concrete copings, four-pane casement window and three timber battened doors to front elevation (with pitching door to first floor). Single-bay single-storey outbuilding to south with pitched thatched roof, whitewashed rubble walls, timber battened door to front and diminutive window or vent to gable.
