  Description

  Internal diam. 32m N-S, 41m E-W. An oval platform enclosed by a fosse 1.5m wide and 15cms deep and an outer earthen bank up to 1m in height. It is not clear if there was ever an inner bank. Along the N sector, the outer bank is only a few cms high. To the ENE there are slight indications of an outer fosse. One gap to the NW is 4m wide and a second to the E is 3.6m wide. It is not clear if either was an original entrance. The interior is level but marshy. It is situated in slightly wet pasture commanding a view of Donegal Bay to the S.   Description

  Diam. 24m. A subcircular level raised area, 2.25m high on the N side but only .1 m on the S side, is all that remains of the 'Fort' shown on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. The site has been considerably disturbed and is very overgrown. It is situated just below the crest of Drumcliff Hill in rough pasture.   Description

  Pre-development testing was carried out by Eoghan Kieran of Moore Archaeological & Environmental Services under licence No. 07E0381 at Revlin, Donegal town. The subject area does not contain any known monuments; however, it was located to the south-east of DG093–012---- and to the north-west of DG093–014---- and DG093–015----, classified as enclosures. Testing took place over five days between 14 and 20 June 2007. Each individual field had a minimum of two trenches excavated through it. Testing exposed a generally uniform stratigraphy consisting of sod and topsoil overlying natural boulder clay on the dryer, more elevated ground and mossy grass and rushes overlying marly clay and peat in the more low-lying ground. Testing exposed one site of archaeological potential to the west of the subject area. This feature, found opposite the Tír Connaill GAA grounds, consisted of an anomalous spread of heat-fractured stones in a charcoal-rich matrix. The site is situated in low-lying marshy ground and its situation and composition would identify it as a possible Bronze Age fulacht fiadh (Bennett 2010, 81).   Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house with dormer attic, extant 1881, on a rectangular plan; three-bay two-storey rear (east) elevation. Occupied, 1901; 1911. Renovated. Replacement pitched artificial slate roof with ridge tiles, cement rendered chimney stacks having concrete capping supporting terracotta pots, rooflights to front (west) pitch, and uPVC rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Replacement cement rendered walls bellcast over rendered plinth. Hipped elliptical-headed central door opening with timber mullions on rock faced step threshold supporting timber transom, and concealed dressings framing timber panelled door having sidelights below overlight. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows having exposed sash boxes. Set in landscaped grounds with ivy-covered piers to perimeter having overgrown capping supporting wrought iron double gates.
