  Description

  It did not prove possible to inspect at close quarters the single-ringed 'Fort' marked on the OS 6-inch maps. Although we were informed that the site was gone, there appeared to be some traces visible when viewed from a distance. The site is on a terrace just above the flood plain of the River Finn in fairly good land and appeared to be of earthen construction. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
