• GA007-011 Enclosure
  Description

  On a slight NE-facing slope in grassland overlooking Lough Loung to NE. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a large roughly circular enclosure (D c. 65m). No visible surface trace survives; a large hollow marks the site. However, the field in which the site was situated is known locally as 'fort field'. • GA007-012 Enclosure
  Description

  In pastureland overlooking partly drained marshland to N. Poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (N-S 112m, E-W 109m) defined by an earthen bank and external fosse. The td. boundary, running N-S, cuts the monument in half, and the area to E of it has been partly levelled and is planted with trees. The bank (H 1.5m max.) and fosse (Wth 3-4m) are well defined from S through W to N, though partially overgrown and mantled with trees. There are traces of a possible entrance (Wth 4m) at SE and of an internal division in SW quadrant. A field boundary, running E-W, also cuts through SE quadrant. • GA007-013 Enclosure
  Description

  On an E-facing slope in pastureland. Poorly preserved enclosure, possibly subcircular in plan (N-S c. 60m). A field boundary, running N-S, cuts the monument in two and no visible trace survives to E of it. The surviving section is defined by an earthen bank from SW to NW, outside of which at WSW are traces of a possible fosse. From NW to N, the monument appears to have been truncated somewhat and is now defined by a straight scarp.
