  On the summit of a steep rise overlooking the Streamstown River to S. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam c. 36m) defined by a drystone wall best preserved at SW. Elsewhere the enclosing element is overlain by field walls, and a road cuts through the monument from NNW to ESE. A souterrain (GA123-017001-) is associated. Architectural heritage

• Mill (water), 1770–1810 · Regional interest
  Description

  Roofless remains of detached water-powered corn mill, built c.1790, adjacent to Streamstown River. Comprising remains of four-bay two-storey mill, with three-bay single-storey house with attic to north, and weir to south diagonally across river. Pitched roof to house, roof to mill not evident. Rubble limestone walls. Segmental-headed window openings and one loop window opening to mill. Segmental-headed door openings. Timber breastshot waterwheel to south elevation of mill in rubble limestone wheel pit. Grinding stones to interior of mill. Rubble limestone weir and overflow channel with rendered copings having timber sluice gate with cast-iron cogs and gearing. House roofless, with rubble limestone walls having dressed quoins and render eaves course. Square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills, one blocked attic window to gable. Square-headed door opening with dressed lintel. Single-bay single-storey outbuilding to south-east.

• Thoor Ballylee, house, 1780–1820 · National interest
  Description

  Five-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800, with recessed single-bay link attached to fifteenth-century tower house, both restored by W.B. Yeats in 1920. Pitched scolloped reed thatch roof, with rendered chimneystack to south gable. Wetdashed rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with smooth rendered surrounds having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows and timber battened external shutters. Square-headed door openings with smooth render surround and timber battened doors. Tower house has parapet with some machicolations, rubble limestone walls with tooled quoins and pronounced base-batter, square-headed window openings and loop openings with multi-pane timber casement windows, some square-headed window openings with ogee-headed double-lights having tooled mullions, and with tooled limestone plaque to east elevation having words of W.B. Yeats.

• Bridge, 1815–1835 · Regional interest
  Description

  Four-arch limestone bridge, built c.1825, carrying road over Streamstown River. Round arches with cut-stone voussoirs. Rubble walls and parapet walls with rendered copings. Rendered walling and V-cutwaters to upstream (south) elevation.
