• GA029-031 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a SW-facing slope in gently rolling grassland. Well-preserved circular rath (D 49m) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is visible from S through N to SE and the fosse survives from W through N to SSE. There is a probable souterrain (GA029-031001-) within the interior. • GA029-031001 Souterrain
  Description

  Within NW quadrant of a ringfort (GA029-031----). According to Costello (1903, 10), this 'fort' contained 'a souterrain, but it is so filled up as to prevent inspection'. What is now visible is a grassy L-shaped depression (L 20m, Wth 3.5m) averaging 0.6m in depth. The longer arm (L 12.6m) runs E-W before turning sharply to S at E end, from where the shorter arm (L 7.4m) extends on a N-S axis.   Description

  On a NE-facing slope in low-lying grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (N-S 44.5m, E-W 40m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank has traces of inner stone-facing at E. Quarrying has encroached upon the enclosing elements at WSW. Well-defined entrance at ESE. • GA030-018 Enclosure
  Description

  On the summit of a low but prominent hillock in undulating grassland. Small roughly circular enclosure (D 7.6m) defined by a gravelly earthen bank. Opposing gaps at NW and SW could be original. Just S of centre is a faint mound. The siting and dimensions of the monument suggest that it may be a barrow, but it could also be the remains of a house.
