  Description

  In level grassland falling steeply away to S. In existence in 1574 when it was occupied by 'Dermot Omanyn' (Nolan 1901b, 122). All that survives is a subrectangular foundation mound (L 10m, Wth 7m) around which large chunks of masonry are scattered. No architectural features are visible. A series of earthen banks surround the monument. (Claffey 1983, 150) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
