Description
On a slight rise in gently undulating grassland. A subcircular enclosure (N-S 40m, E-W 34m), in very poor condition, which was bulldozed c. 20 years ago. A low bank of earth and stone enclose the monument from N through E to ESE; no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. It is overlain by a partially collapsed field wall from SW through W to N. Description
On a slight rise, in undulating grassland. According to the landowner, three human skeletons were unearthed, c. 1947, by Galway County Council while digging for sand in a 'mound' which was c. 6m in diameter and c. 0.3m high. Description
On a slight rise in grassland. According to local information, there was a 'ring' of collapsed stone (D c. 6m) at this spot. However, it was removed during land reclamation when 'ashes' were uncovered from a hollow in its centre. No visible surface trace survives. Possibly a kiln or settlement site.
