  Description

  On slightly raised ground overlooking pastureland. An almost square area (N-S 44.5m, E-W 43.6m) defined by a poorly preserved inner bank, a well-preserved flat-bottomed fosse and an outer bank which is overlain by a later field wall from SW to N. Possible stone-facing is visible on the inner bank at NNW, and the remains of a causeway at E may be original.   Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800, having opposite doorways and four-bay rear elevation. Pitched reed thatched roof with rendered copings to gables, low rendered chimneystack. Whitewashed rubble limestone walls. Square-headed window openings with replacement timber windows and painted surrounds. Square-headed narrow doorway to front with glazed timber door. Small garden to front bounded by low stone wall painted white. Single-storey outbuildings to yard at rear of house, having pitched roof and lean-to structures with rendered walls.

• Bridge, 1870–1900 · Regional interest
  Description

  Railway bridge, carrying Athenry-Tuam railway line over road, built c.1885, and comprising iron girder deck supported on abutments of rusticated limestone blocks having sloping walls flanking each abutment, with rusticated caps to each side of abutments and rounded copings to flanking walls.

  Description

  Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, comprising cylindrical shaft with banding, set into metal plate and in turn set into concrete platform with rendered boundary wall. Fluted neck to pump, with moulded base, fluted neck to pump, fluted spout with bucket grip, fluted domed cap with pointed finial, and cow's tail pumping arm.
