  Description

  Some 100m E of Creevaghbaun Church (GA044-047002-). Well-preserved subcircular well (N-S 1.2m) dedicated to St Bridget (Topgr. Files, NMI.). It is enclosed by a mortared stone wall with an entrance at S. Two small wall niches are visible to E of the entrance. A plaque depicting a woman carved in relief, dated 1710, is set into the inner wall-face at N. A possible sweathouse (GA044-073002-) lies c. 5m to S. • GA044-073002 Sweathouse
  Description

  Some 100m E of Creevaghbaun Church (GA044-047002-). A small well-preserved rectangular building (E-W; L 1.8m, Wth 0.7m) composed of well-dressed mortared limestone blocks, possibly reused from another building. Access is gained via a flat-headed doorway (Wth 0.5m, H 1.1m) at W end of N wall. The roof is barrel-vaulted. Possibly a sweathouse but the doorway appears to be too large for such. A holy well (GA044-073001-) lies c. 5m to N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.   Description

  On arable land with a large tract of bogland to the N. A hachured feature marked on the 1932 edition of the OS 6-inch map proved on inspection in 1984 to be a disused and largely infilled pit.
