• GA030-116 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a S-facing slope in otherwise level grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 40m) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is present at N and from ESE through S to W; the fosse survives from NNW through E to SSE. No visible surface trace survives elsewhere. A field wall overlies the enclosing elements from NNE to E. Gap at S appears modern.   Description

  On a N-facing slope in rolling grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (N-S 30m, E-W 27.5m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from NW through N to NE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse and outer bank survive from SSW through W to NE. The monument has been quarried out at NW.   On a rise in rolling grassland. Well-preserved almost circular rath (E-W 43m, N-S 42m) defined by a bank of earth and stone at N and SW; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element.
