The N stone (L 1.2m) has fallen, and centre stone (H 0.5m) is considerably smaller than S stone (H 1m). An outlying monolith of ?schist, with quartz inclusions, lies c. 7.5m NNW of the fallen N stone. Part of a complex of monuments centred on Lough Sheeauns (GA022-006----). (Ó Nualláin 1988, 195; Gibbons and Higgins 1988b) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. - GA022-061 Enclosure
Description
On the summit of a steep-sided hill overlooking Cleggan Bay to W. Poorly preserved oval enclosure (E-W 20.5m, N-S 13.5m), the enclosing wall of which is overlain in all portions by a modern field wall. Kinahan (1871, 351) suggested that it was 'probably a Caher' but the discovery of a pair of saddle querns at the monument may indicate a prehistoric date (Molloy and O'Connell 1987, 205). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA022-062 House - indeterminate date
Description
On a low knoll in an upland area of cutaway bog. Poorly preserved irregular enclosure (N-S 54m, E-W 34m) defined by a dry stone wall. - GA022-063001 Megalithic tomb - unclassified
Description
On a low hillock overlooking the inner end of Cleggan Bay to W. The monument, partly incorporated in a field wall, consists of a polygonal chamber (L c. 1.6m, Wth c. 1. 1m) open to NE and covered by a single roofstone. The chamber area has been dug out and the closing stone at SW may not be an original feature. The tomb is contained in a mound (6.5m by 5.5m). The remains are insufficient to permit classification. See also GA022-006----. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA022-063002 House - indeterminate date
Description
Lying c. 40m N of megalithic tomb (GA022-063001-). The poorly preserved foundation lines of a circular structure (E-W 4.3m, N-S 4.2m) defined by small boulders set on edge. The interior has been dug out and spoil heaped on the enclosing element. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA022-077 Field system
Description
In cutaway bog on N-facing hillslope to S of Lough Sheeauns. Comprises a large number (over ten to date) of discontinuous stretches of pre-bog field walls which form no obvious pattern, and at least one possible field clearance cairn. They cover an area c, 700m E-W by 400m N-S and are visible as low stony banks. A cutting through one wall revealed it to be built of quartz boulders revetting a rubble core (Wth 1.6m, H 0.9m). These walls are part of a complex of monuments centred on Lough Sheeauns (GA022-006----); within the area occupied by the walls themselves is a court-tomb (GA022-106----), a stone row (GA022-060----), and the remains of a number of houses (GA022-113----), but their exact relationship to any of the walls is unknown. (Gibbons and Higgins 1988b) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

Description
In a low-lying position, in cutaway bog, between a small stream to W and higher ground to E. A discontinuous stretch of pre-bog field wall (L 70m), running ENE-WSW. Built of irregular blocks including some quartz boulders, partly robbed. Bifurcates at WSW end as it approaches the stream. Overlooked by a standing stone (GA022-015001-) to NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA022-106 Megalithic tomb - court tomb
Description
In a hollow to S of Lough Sheeauns. This tomb is very ruined. At E are the remains of a funnel-shaped court and 2m to W of this the rear chamber of the gallery (L 3m, Wth 1m). A large stone at the gallery entrance may be a displaced jamb. Traces of a low mound are visible to N and S of the monument and the remains of an old field wall survive to SW. See also GA022-006----. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA022-113 House - indeterminate date
Description
In cutaway bog on N-facing slope to S of Lough Sheeauns. Preliminary fieldwork in this area has indicated the foundations of at least eight houses, one of which is rectangular (L 4.8m, Wth 4m). The remainder are circular, ranging in diameter from 6m to 11.5m. Although spatially associated with a complex of monuments around Lough Sheeauns, including a pre-bog field system (GA022-077----), court-tomb (GA022-106----) and a stone row (GA022-060----), their exact relationship to each other is unknown.
